Swift COVID-19/Coronavirus Resources for Truck Drivers

One-stop resource for all things related to trucking during these uncertain times

At Swift, we respect the right of our employees to make appropriate personal health decisions. Accordingly, we oppose blanket or broad “one-size-fits-all” regulatory approaches that may compel or force most people to be vaccinated in order to continue working. Truck drivers are essential to keeping food, medicine, and clothing on shelves. We do not expect vaccine mandates or mandatory testing will apply to truck drivers.

We understand this is a very uncertain time in the country. Nevertheless, we couldn't be more proud to know we have the best drivers in the industry delivering food, goods, and supplies coast-to-coast. Drivers are our heroes today and everyday — they are on the frontlines. They're going the extra mile to deliver loads, day and night, so that store shelves are stocked, and America has the goods that they need. Our financial strength has enabled us to provide stability to all of our employees, and we understand that the country needs us now more than ever. Below are a few useful resources that drivers can refer to for supplemental support during this pandemic.

Supporting our Drivers

It is critical to know that at Swift, you are not alone and have resources to support your mental and physical well-being. Please checkout the portal for a Swift Well-being Resource document that includes telehealth information, virtual fitness classes and more.

Driver Onboarding

We understand that you may be worried to come to an unfamiliar place with new people, especially during this time. We want to assure you that at Swift, the health and safety of our students and employees is our number one priority.  To prevent the contamination and spread of COVID-19, we’ve included the following precautionary measures within our Swift Academies and Swift Driver Qualification locations:

  • Mask requirement; disposable masks available if needed
  • 6-feet distance requirement where possible
  • Temperature checks
  • Virtual learning options
  • Limited group gatherings; limited people in truck
  • Cleaned and sanitized trucks and bunks
  • Daily facility cleaning and sanitization
  • Ample hand sanitizer
  • Single occupancy for those coming into a hotel
  • Prescreen questionnaire prior to visiting Swift

Should you have any questions regarding our preventative measures, please give a Swift recruiter a call at 888-871-3537
